Harry Starman was an elderly Jewish man and one of the residents of Roosevelt Heights.

Biography[]

Harry, Buck Fineman, Joe, and Frank Rivas all gathered many nights at the meat locker Buck worked at to play poker, which was illegal in Chicago. One night, Harry, Joe, and Frank sent Buck off to grab some glasses for their wine. After waiting 30 minutes, Harry, Joe, and Frank went to check on him and found him dead and mangled. They called the police, who ruled that Buck had been dropped dead and been eaten by rats. When Carl Kolchak arrived and began questioning the police, Harry butted in to talk about the horrid conditions he and his neighbors lived in.

Following the murder of Marion and Sol Goldstein, Harry called Kolchak hysterically over the phone; his message was so hysterical that Kolchak was unable to understand it. Upon arriving, Harry pulled Kolchak aside and explained he believed the owner of a nearby Indian restaurant, the Lakshmi Restaurant, was the killer, as he believed the man to be a Nazi after seeing him create graffiti of swastikas around the neighborhood.

The two went to the restaurant to investigate. Kolchak hopped over a fence to investigate further, and Harry declined to do hop over the fence as well due to his age. Harry then spotted the Raksasha, disguised as Kolchak, walking towards him. When he asked “Kolchak” what he was doing, the real Kolchak told him he was still behind the fence. Cornered, Harry begged Kolchak for help before the Rakshasha devoured him.
