Henry "Studs" Spake was a biker and criminal, who was a member of two biker gangs, the Jokers and the Devil’s Advocates.
Biography[]
Spake has a criminal record since the age of 16, having stabbed a gym teacher with a pencil. Along with his friend Joseph Morton, Lila Morton, Coral Polito, and Turk Pelletier, Spake formed biker gang the Jokers, wreaking havoc across Chicago, serving as the leader. One day, the Jokers decided to play a prank on Harold "Swordsman" Baker, a member of rival biker gang the Bishops. They had set up wires to knock him off his bike, but Spake set up his wire to high and it decapitated Baker. Pelletier placed Baker’s head in a container and carried it as a trophy.
Baker’s vengeful, headless spirit began attacking the gang and decapitated Pelletier. Spake realized that Baker could be stopped by placing his head with his body, and the gang did so, ending the haunting. The Jokers disbanded shortly after, but Spake never quit being a biker, and as an adult he formed the biker gang the Devil’s Advocates, doing things such as running tour buses off the road and committing robbery. Spake still occasionally made attempts at an honest living, and he moonlighted as a power line repairman. During one of these attempts, he encountered Baker’s ghost, who had been separated from his head once more during the excavation of the cemetery he was buried in.
Spake became paranoid, and attended Morton’s funeral along with his fellow bikers, as Morton had been killed by Baker. Carl Kolchak interviewed him, only for Spake to begin fighting with his underlings after they mocked him. At night, Spake snuck into the warehouse Baker’s body was stored at to once more reunite his body with his head. Spake was spotted by a security guard, who he assaulted and threatened. Suddenly, Baker‘s spirit manifested and attacked and decapitated Spake.
